Inlet Gas Distributor
Equal distribution of liquid/gas mixtures into a separator vessel or column
Ensepatec provides a broad number of liqud/gas distribution and flow equalization components such as
- Perforated plates installed on the upstream and/or downstream side of a vane type separator
- Gas/liquid distributors for incoming gas/liquid mixtures installed in horizontal or vertical separators
- Umbrella distributors for flow widening
For the proper distribution of liquid/gas mixtures typically the most advanced component is a inlet liquid/gas distributor.
The vane-type inlet distributor is used for introducing gas/liquid mixtures into a vessel or column. The purpose of the inlet distributor is to obtain a separation of liquid from the gas and to provide proper gas distribution in the gas compartment of the vessel.

This is obtained by splitting up the feed liquid/gas mixture into a number of flat jet-flows. These jet-flows dissipate a large part of the kinetic energy of the feed mixture and therefore an inlet distributor allows a considerable height reduction of the vessel and a reduction of the inlet nozzle size.
Ensepatec provides different types of inlet distributors for vertical KO-drums and horizontal KO-drums. The types vary along with feed nozzle sizes, the internal diameter (ID) of the separator vessel / column.
Improved distribution – while maintaining minimum nozzle size – can be achieved using an umbrella type distributor. The distributor forces the flow to widen-up leading to an improved distribution across the face area of – for example – a vane type separator.
Performance data

Ensepatec provides performance data for flow distributors such as pressure loss and – where applicable – removal efficiency.
The removal efficiency of an inlet gas/liquid distributor can vary as strong as between 50 and >99%.
