Measuring Perfomance Data

Validating performance data

Measuring and proof of performance figures such as pressure loss, limit drop sizes or even residual liquid contents can be a contractual obligation.

Technical specification rarely provide clarity about “relevant” norms and standard how to measure performance data. Therefore it is essential that the parties understand and agree on the methodology how to conduct performance measurements.

A measurement can be of direct nature, i.e. the value is directly measured, or indirectly, i.e. a measurement of another value is taken and a correlation to the required value built.

Typical direct online measurements are

Pressure loss over time, Surface temperatures, water-cut

Typical indirect measurements are

Residual liquid content (RLC), Limit drop size (LDS), in-air salinity

Ensepatec offers consultancy and field measurements to help customers validating performance data.
