Conducting a computational fluid dynamic (CFD) study can be helpful to understand a complex flow pattern inside a separator/filter or a larger device such as a quench-tower, an FGD-absorber or a separator-internal.

Any separator works best within known velocity limits and a CFD is a well suitable tool to validate the flow pattern matching with the separator type selected.
