Gas Filter

Removal of solids from gas pipelines

The Type IV configuration is a standard gasfilter and utilized for the removal of solids from dry natural gas streams.

The natural gas enters into a filter-separation compartment, abruptly changing its velocity. This sudden drop of gas velocity allows scale, heavier rust and other pipeline particles to drop out of the gas stream – thus minimizing the dust load on the filter and prolonging the filter-life.

Gas filters help to clean the pipeline gas from rust, pipe scale or other contamination prior to a compressor station.

Performance data

The removal efficiency can be as small as 1.0µm for particulates.

The pressure loss depends on the flow rate, the operating conditions and the choice of internals.

The dust holding capacity varies with the filter surface installed inside the gasfilter and can be adjusted according to the operating requirements.
