Coalescing Filter Separator – Single or 2 stage configurations

Removal of solids and
fine droplets

The coalescing filter is a single-stage or a 2-stage separator targeting to remove of solid particulates and fine droplets from a gaststream.

In case the contamination is low, a single stage configuration is sufficient.

This filter-coalescer is ideally suited for removal of condensate and contaminants after a gas-compression & -cooling process.

When the contamination is higher, a 2-stage configuration is recommended. The first stage consists of a multi-cyclone separator that removes solids and liquids. As the first stage (Multi-Cyclones) is explicitely exposed to erosion damage – caused by the incoming particulates – a special arrangement of the cyclones is provided.

Only a very small fraction of liquid can pass the cyclone towards the coalescing cartridges. The coalescing cartridges will filter solids and remove the remaining droplets.

Ensepatec provides both single and 2-stage configurations in various materials. 2-stage configurations support the extended lifetime of coalescing cartridges.

Performance data

The removal efficiency for solid particulates and liquid droplets can be as low as <1.0µm.

The pressure loss of the separator is subject of operating gas density and choice of internals. It can be adjusted to the technical requirements.
