Removal of water, condensates and solids (black powder)

The tasks for separators in the natural gas production are manifold. Natural as contains water that has to be removed from the gas-stream in the earliest possible stage of the production. As the expansion of the gas after wellhead leads to a temperature drop there is a risk for hydrate-formation which could choke the line. The removal of water from natural gas is typically conducted by glycol dehydration (absorbtion).

Once the natural gas has been prepared for transportation through long-distance pipelines separators remove solids (typically black power) in filter-coalescer stages and free liquid in KO-drums.

Ensepatec offers separators for

  • Retention of glycol in a dehydration unit
  • Filter coalescers for the removal of black power and free liquids from the natural pipeline upstream of the compressor stations
  • Multi-cyclone separators for the removal of liquid and solids
