Inline Separator Type 1 – Non Code

Type I Inline separator is a single stage straight through gas flow housing that can be fitted with a number of vane type separators depending upon the removal efficiency, liquid loading and can be fitted with a coalescing pad for higher removal efficiency at smaller droplet sizes or for optimizing gas flow distribution.
Inline Separator Type 1 – Non Code
Illustration: Inline separator principal function
The gas stream flows straight through the separator and the liquid is collected in a bottom sump section and then drained though piping to the bottom of the vessel. For access purposes the vessel can be opened using a flanged dish head type construction. The illustration below shows a typical design with a single stage vane type separator.

Wash systems
The inline separator can be equipped with a wash-system for services that require online cleaning. The illustration above shows a typical upstream nozzle arrangement that cover the entire separator surface. Wash systems can be operated continuously or discontinuously, whatever the process requires.
Perfomance data
The removal efficiency of the inline separator is typically 10-20µm, 99.9%. When using a coalescer pad, the removal efficiency can be improved. The pressure loss is typically very low and depends on the choice of internals.
