Inline Separator Type 2 – Code
Double shell liquid sulphur
recovery separator
The Claus process is the most significant gas desulfurizing process, recovering elemental sulfur from gaseous hydrogen sulfide.
The multi-step Claus process recovers sulfur from the gaseous hydrogen sulfide found in raw natural gas and from by-product gases containing hydrogen sulfide derived from refining crude oil and other industrial processes.
Type II Inline separator is ideal for the liquid sulfur removal and is equipped with a dual shell for utilizing a heating fluid (typically steam) in between the shells. The steam regulates the temperature regime inside the vessel. Keeping the operating temperature well above 135°C to prevent the solidification of sulfur.
Performance data
The removal efficiencies of the inline separator Type II is typically between 2-3µm, 99.9% applying vane type separation in combination with coalescing pads.
The pressure loss varies with the choice of internals but is only a few millibar.
